The faculty has an excellent team of experienced and internationally qualified research-intensive teachers, who are actively engaged in teaching and learning of under and post-graduate (MPhil and PhD) students, with full devotion and dedication, to enable them to solve the real-world livestock and poultry challenges, at regional, national and international levels. Since, we believe in holistic development, thus beyond the teaching in lecture halls and practical laboratories, our students are greatly encouraged to sharpen their management and leadership skills by actively participating in vibrant co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, under the close mentorship of their teachers and educators.
The clinicians and surgeons of the faculty do more than they teach and bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application, by providing not only elite and hands-on clinical learning skills to the young veterinarians but also provide invaluable guidance to the farmers about the husbandry and health of the animals and also deliver diagnostic and treatment services, to timely prevention and cure of various infectious and non-infectious diseases of pet, small and large animals, poultry and fisheries. To ensure the absolute practical confidence to the young veterinarians, our training ecosystem at veterinary teaching hospital is equipped with various cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment resources like X-rays unit, ultrasonography, hematology and serum biochemical (enzymes and hormones) analysis, histo-pathological studies, artificial insemination, semen evaluation, pregnancy diagnosis, functional operation theater for small & large animal surgery and post-mortem procedures. Moreover, for practical training of the students, there is large number of small and large experimental animals at university livestock farm, to enable and equip them with sufficient practical knowledge of husbandry of animals and clinical experience of various reproductive and advanced surgical procedures. Hence, our mission is to drive the economic development across South Punjab by delivering quality education, advanced post-graduate scientific research and serving our agricultural community through exceptional veterinary diagnostics, clinical care, treatment and best learning facilities.
