What this institute covers

The Cholistan Institute of Biological Sciences (CIBS) at Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of biology. Originally established as the Department of Zoology in 2018, it was upgraded in 2025 into a full institute, reflecting its expanded scope, research capabilities and academic offerings.

CIBS provides a collaborative environment for students, faculty and researchers to explore the complexities of life at the molecular, cellular and ecological levels. Its programmes span disciplines such as fisheries and aquaculture, microbiology, molecular biology, entomology, parasitology, herpetology, ornithology, biodiversity, environmental biology, wildlife and ecology, fields that play a significant role in human resource development, food security, environmental conservation and sustainable development.
