Faculty of Veterinary Sciences
The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, is dedicated to preparing skilled veterinarians through quality education, practical clinical training and research. The Faculty plays a vital role in addressing animal health challenges across South Punjab and contributing to the improvement of livestock, poultry and companion animal health.
The Faculty provides comprehensive academic and practical training across major veterinary disciplines, including pathology, parasitology, microbiology, theriogenology, medicine, surgery, and epidemiology and public health. Through modern laboratories, clinical facilities, diagnostic services and hands-on learning, students develop the knowledge and practical skills required for professional veterinary practice.
Faculty members are actively engaged in teaching, clinical services, postgraduate education and problem-oriented research. Their work focuses on disease diagnosis and prevention, animal reproduction, infectious and non-infectious diseases, veterinary surgery, public health and emerging animal health challenges. The Faculty also promotes collaboration, innovation and community outreach to strengthen veterinary services and support the agricultural economy of the region.
The Faculty aims to establish itself as a center of excellence in veterinary education, research, diagnostics and clinical care by producing competent, ethical and professionally prepared veterinarians who can contribute effectively at regional, national and international levels.
Welcome to the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. Our team of experienced, internationally qualified and research-intensive teachers is engaged in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students to solve real-world livestock and poultry challenges — regionally, nationally and internationally.
We believe in holistic development. Beyond lecture halls and practical laboratories, students are encouraged to sharpen their management and leadership skills through vibrant co-curricular and extra-curricular activity, under the close mentorship of their teachers.
The clinicians and surgeons of the faculty do more than teach. They bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application — giving young veterinarians hands-on clinical skill, advising farmers on husbandry and animal health, and delivering the diagnostic and treatment services that prevent and cure infectious and non-infectious disease in pets, small and large animals, poultry and fisheries.
Our mission is to drive economic development across South Punjab by delivering quality education, advanced postgraduate research, and service to the agricultural community through exceptional veterinary diagnostics, clinical care and treatment.
I warmly welcome you to our campus and wish you a successful, rewarding and inspiring journey as you pursue your professional veterinary degree.
