What this department covers

Ever growing Pakistan Poultry Industry needs skilled human resource. To cater this need, Department of Poultry Science was established in 2018 in the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, CUVAS, Bahawalpur, which is focused on providing the qualified and trained manpower to smoothly address the issues at commercial farming level as well as initiating the problem-oriented research work to benefit the industry that can be devised through implementing effective strategies for enhancing poultry production and minimizing the constraints in poultry sector.

• Providing qualified and trained manpower to address issues at commercial poultry farming level
• Conducting problem-oriented research to benefit the Pakistan Poultry Industry
• Implementing effective strategies for enhancing poultry production and minimizing constraints in the poultry sector
• Providing practical facilities through undergraduate and postgraduate laboratories, an Environment Control House and a hatchery

The Department of Poultry Science is facilitated with one undergraduate and two postgraduate laboratories. Furthermore, the department is constructing an Environment Control House (ECH) with a capacity of more than ten thousand broilers and a hatchery with egg setting capacity of two thousand. The department is successfully running a B.S. (Hons.) Poultry Science bachelor's degree program and is also going to initiate an M.Phil. Poultry Science postgraduate program to produce professionals of international standards. The students of B.S. (Hons.) and M.Phil. Poultry Science will serve the Pakistan Poultry Industry in a better way.
